Shutter speed.
For this photograph I used 1/30 shutter speed. This is a low shutter speed and achieved this beautiful image. It captured the light as it travelled and made it captured the movements of the lights. I love this image because it has captured the light exactly the way I wanted it too, whereas if I had used high shutter speed I would have just got an image of the light itself and that wasn’t the effect I was going for. We had some problems when we took the photo’s such as adjusting the shutter speed to get the correct picture, and this took many tries. Also as the lights were off to get the effect of the light, it was hard to get a decent image. We tried using flash but this didn’t work, so we just persevered. I like the messiness of the image and it works really well with the dark background and I had a lot of fun actually taking the photographs. I think using the cameras a bit more and taking time to try out different settings and speeds will make me understand how to use it more. Next time if I did this again I would make sure everything in the background was blacked or we were in a darker room, as although this photo came out great, some of the other didn’t.
